Thomas Hardy

Thomas Hardy tours are a great favourite seeing the landscape that inspired his writings,
the church at Stinsford where his heart is buried "under the Greenwood Tree" and other
sites associated with his works in Dorchester and throughout Wessex. Hardy's Cottage
is also much visited and many of the films of his books have also been made in Dorset.
Tours and walks can be specially suited for schools where Hardy's writings are part of
the curriculum.

Tolpuddle Martyrs

The Old Shire Courtroom in Dorchester is where the six agricultural labourers, who became known as the Tolpuddle Martyrs, were tried in 1834.
The courtroom and cells are essentially unchanged since 1797 and are retained as a memorial to the men whose trial and sentences so outraged the the public. Roman Mosaic

Once named Durnavaria this major Roman Town has many interesting
features dating back to its occupation.

2012 Olympic Sailing at Weymouth

Weymouth is the superb venue for the Sailing in the 2012 Olympics.

The 10 different sailing Gold Medal classes will be held from 27th July to 12th August 2102.

The Olympics will be followed by the Paralympic Sailing from 31st August to 5th September

Situated in Dorset in the heart of the World famous Jurasic Coast, the wonderful natural bay is perfect for sailing.
